Texas’ 9U Asher Denman Sets AAU Long Jump Record and Ties 100m Record on Same Day

Lightning Force Athletics’ Asher Denman jumped 16' 11.5" and ran 12.75 across two events at the AAU Junior Olympic Games on August 4.

Asher Denman entered the AAU record book twice on August 4 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa—once on the long-jump runway and once in the 100m preliminaries.

The Texas athlete jumped 16' 11.5" to set the 9U boys AAU National and Junior Olympic Games long-jump record. Jordan Stephens had held the previous standard at 15' 9.75" since 2025. Denman moved the record 13.75 inches farther.

Denman also ran 12.75 in the 9U boys 100m preliminaries. The performance tied the AAU National and Junior Olympic Games record set by Ayden Idemudia in 2025.

The distinction is clear: Denman owns the long-jump record and shares the 100m record—with the sprint championship still ahead.
