Ohio’s Riley Franklin and California’s Beth Nwachukwu Share 1.55m Standard in 12U Girls High Jump

Warrensville Youth Track Club’s Riley Franklin remains USA No. 1 and Valley United Track Club’s Beth Nwachukwu sits No. 2, but both athletes have now cleared the same leading height: 1.55m (5' 1").

The bar at the top of the 12U girls high jump now sits at 1.55m—and two athletes have cleared it.

Franklin reached the height first on June 25 at the AAU Track & Field Region 4 Qualifier. For nearly four weeks, the Ohio athlete held the leading height alone.

Then Nwachukwu answered.

The California athlete cleared 1.55m at Moorpark Summer Open #3 on July 21, matching Franklin and changing the shape of the current national list.

One Height, Two States

The leading performances came on opposite sides of the country.

Franklin cleared 1.55m for Warrensville Youth Track Club in Ohio. Nwachukwu reached the same height for Valley United Track Club in California.

They did not need to share the same approach or landing mat to reshape the national picture. Their separate clearances placed two states, two clubs and two athletes at the same leading height.

The Ranking Still Has an Order

Athletic.net’s Official 12U girls club high jump list currently places Franklin at USA No. 1 and Nwachukwu at USA No. 2 as of July 25, 2026.

Equal heights alone are not enough to call them tied for No. 1. Attempt counts and the list’s tie-break details were not available.

The result is clear: Franklin and Nwachukwu share the 1.55m standard, even while the current list keeps them first and second.

The Chase Behind Them

West Georgia Elite’s Kopelynn Phillips sits third at 1.51m (4' 11.5"), four centimeters below the leading height.

That is close enough to keep the top of the event open, but 1.55m is now the height the rest of the field is chasing.

What Comes Next

Franklin reached the height first. Nwachukwu matched it nearly four weeks later.

Now the next move belongs to whichever athlete can raise the standard again.

For the moment, the current national picture has two athletes, two states and one leading height: 1.55m.
