California’s 10U Archer Gorelik Breaks USATF National Record with 53.02m Aero Javelin Throw

3M Track Club’s Archer Gorelik moved the decade-old 250g Aero Javelin record by 8.84 meters during the USATF Junior Olympic final.

Archer Gorelik won the 9–10 boys 250g Aero Javelin with a USATF national-record throw of 53.02m (173' 11") on July 29 at the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships. The final took place at Falcon Stadium at Cerritos College in Norwalk, California.

Eugene Brooks IV had held the record since 2016 with a throw of 44.18m. Gorelik pushed the event’s standard 8.84 meters farther.

Hershey Blaze’s Alexander Lenda also surpassed the old record, reaching 45.56m (149' 5") to finish second. Lenda cleared the previous standard by 1.38 meters, but Gorelik still finished 7.46 meters beyond him.

The performance gave 3M Track Club and California a USATF national champion while pushing the 10U boys Aero Javelin into new territory.

The old record survived for a decade. The new mark the event must chase is 53.02m.
